Two ideas shape how we work.
Both are on the homepage. This page covers what comes after them: the foundations we look at first, and where we go when those aren't enough.
Before we ask what treatment to add, we ask what biology might be missing.
Human biology still depends on fundamentals no technology can replace. These are not a medical protocol. They are what every human being needs.
Light & circadian rhythm
The biological rhythms regulating sleep, energy, hormones, metabolism and recovery.
Air & breathing
Healthy breathing and adequate oxygenation, including sleep-disordered breathing where relevant.
Water & hydration
Appropriate hydration and fluid balance.
Nourishment
Energy, protein, essential fats, micronutrients, fibre and nutrient-dense food, personalised to you.
Sleep & recovery
Sufficient opportunity for physiological repair, regulation and recovery.
Movement & tissue health
Muscle, bone, cardiovascular and metabolic health, mobility, lymphatic circulation and connective tissue.
Connection & purpose
Health exists within relationships, meaning, belonging and the life you are trying to live.
These foundations are not an alternative to medicine. They are part of being a healthy human being.
Sophisticated medical evaluation of the individual in front of us.
Depending on your needs, evaluation may explore:
Advanced testing is not the goal. Understanding is.
We don't test everything because we can. We measure what helps us make better decisions about you.
Medicine should feel like a partnership.
Six steps, in order, every time.
What each step of the Beyond Method looks like when we work together.
- 01
Listen
Before I interpret a single number I want to understand the person: your story, your goals, the stressors you are carrying, your history, your relationships, what you have already tried, and what you actually want your health to make possible. This is the longest part of the first visit and it is not a formality.
- 02
Understand
Investigate physiology and pattern: history, examination, appropriate diagnostics, and data followed over time rather than a single snapshot. Comprehensive functional laboratory work, advanced cellular panels, brain mapping and continuous glucose monitoring where they are warranted.
- 03
Reframe
Most people arrive believing something is wrong with them. Symptoms are information worth investigating, reflecting disease, deficiency, adaptation or accumulated load, not evidence of personal failure. Curiosity is more useful than shame, and considerably more accurate.
- 04
Restore
An individualized plan built from the least dogmatic mix of conventional, lifestyle, functional, preventive, longevity and regenerative tools appropriate to you. I am not loyal to a modality. I am loyal to what is likely to work for your situation.
- 05
Build
We build physical, metabolic, cognitive and adaptive capacity through the right balance of challenge and recovery.
- 06
Empower
Measure, iterate, adjust, and steadily increase your ability to understand your own body and make informed decisions without me. The intent is that you need me less over time, not more.
Protocols improve safety, consistency and training. They must remain supports for clinical reasoning, never substitutes for it.
A few positions, stated plainly.
- The body makes sense. Symptoms deserve investigation, not judgment.
- Understanding precedes change. People participate more fully when they know why.
- Normal is not optimal. "You are just getting older" is not a treatment plan.
- Health is capacity. The point is not a perfect dashboard. It is the ability to live.
- Curiosity requires humility. "We do not know" differs from "it cannot be true."
Deeply grounded. Radically curious.
Medicine is full of confident answers to questions nobody has actually settled. When I tell you something, you should know which of these it is.
- Tier one
Established
Well supported by evidence. Represented accurately, without overstating certainty.
- Tier two
Emerging
Preliminary or evolving. Described as such, with its limitations named.
- Tier three
Hypothesis
A proposed mechanism or clinical reasoning. Labelled, never presented as fact.
- Tier four
Personal experience
Things that changed my own understanding. Offered honestly, not as proof.
"We do not know" is a legitimate answer and an invitation to a better question, not permission to make a claim I cannot support.
