I knew a lot of things, but I did not know who I was.

I did not arrive at this through designing a wellness brand. I arrived through medicine, motherhood, achievement, searching, and the uncomfortable realisation that a person can know a great deal and still not know herself.

For much of my life I was highly attuned to what other people wanted and needed. Making others happy could make me happy, and it also made it very difficult to separate my own desires from what I had inherited.

I eventually started examining beliefs one at a time. Why do I believe this? Is it actually mine? What happens if I put it down?

Asked to remember a time I felt genuinely free, I was afraid I would not have an answer. What surfaced was humanitarian travel: Ecuador, the Philippines, the Dominican Republic, Kilimanjaro. Places where nobody knew me, where I had almost no roles to perform, and where I could simply be present among people.

The lesson was not that an assessment revealed some ultimate truth about me. It was that freedom from roles and expectation let me answer from a more honest place. That is the same thing I am trying to create for the people I work with: clinically first, and then, if they want it, further.

I am not here to be anyone's guru and I do not have a final answer. What I can offer is medical expertise, real curiosity, honesty about the limits of what is known, and the willingness to say: I am still on the path too.

Deeply grounded. Radically curious.

Grounded enough to lead when medicine requires it. Curious enough to keep asking what else might explain it.
